Sierra Madre range (approximate)

Sierra Madre Environmental Ventures Corp.

Restoring the Sierra Madre, one landscape at a time.

The Sierra Madre runs down the eastern side of Luzon. Our plan is to restore and protect its forests across seven provinces, from Cagayan to Quezon - through reforestation, forest protection and nature-based livelihoods, built with local communities and partners.

What we do

A diversified environmental enterprise - not just tree planting.

Reforestation

Native and hardwood species planted on degraded grassland and brush, with survival tracked tree by tree.

Forest protection

Standing forest kept intact and guarded, with enrichment planting where the canopy is thin.

Nursery and arboretum

Our own seedling supply and a living library of native species.

Agroforestry and livelihoods

Fruit, root crops and tree crops that give nearby communities income from a standing forest.

Ecotourism

Forest parks and trails that let people experience the restored landscape.

Environmental data and GIS

Mapping, satellite monitoring and reporting that show exactly what changed on the ground.

Where we plan to work

Seven provinces along the Sierra Madre.

These are the provinces where we are looking for project sites. Tap a province to see where things stand.

Nueva Ecija

Our first project: a site in Bongabon. Applying to DENR for a forest land management agreement (SFLMA) - not yet issued.

Our first project

Bongabon, Nueva Ecija - 200 hectares.

On the western foothills of the Sierra Madre, the Bongabon site today is a mix of grassland, brush and open forest. The plan keeps the forest, plants 100 hectares of hardwoods on the open ground, and sets aside 30 hectares near the gate for a site centre, nursery, arboretum, forest park, resort and solar panels.

How we work

From bare hillside to measured, protected forest.

  1. 01

    Assess

Land cover, soil, water and community mapping of the site.

  2. 02

    Secure tenure

Apply to DENR for a Sustainable Forest Land Management Agreement - the right to manage and develop the forest land. Bongabon's application is in progress.

  3. 03

    Grow

Raise seedlings in our own nursery, matched to each zone.

  4. 04

    Plant and protect

Plant in blocks, maintain, and guard both new and existing forest.

  5. 05

    Measure and report

Geo-tagged records, GPS and satellite imagery for every block.

Partner with us

We work through formal partnerships.

Every program is agreed in writing with the partner - scope, hectares, species, reporting - and backed by mapped, geo-tagged evidence from the field.

Government and LGUs

Reforestation, watershed and greening programs delivered on the ground with full reporting.

Corporations

ESG and CSR programs tied to real, mapped hectares - with the data to back every report.

NGOs and research

Field sites, species trials and long-term monitoring for conservation and science.
